Síocháin Hughes is an artist working with camera, paint, dimensional materials and digital, often exploring themes of site, observer, time and space. She has exhibited internationally at forums including the Musée Carnavalet and the Galerie Lambert in Paris, France, the Kultur Senat Roloff-Momin, the Galerie Am Scheunenviertel and the Amerika Haus Gallery, in Berlin, Germany, the Henry Street Settlement and White Columns in New York City, and several east coast universities. Her work is in the collection of the Musée Carnavalet and numerous private collections. Her work has been published in Paris in 3D From Stereoscopy to Virtual Reality 1850-2000, Musée Carnavalet, and the Wickedness.net eJournal, Perspectives on Human Wickedness, volume 1: no. 4. The recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, she studied with photographer Dieter Appelt at the Universität der Künste Berlin Berlin, Germany. Ms. Hughes holds an MFA from Hunter College and a BFA from Parsons School of Design, New York. She maintains a studio in New Jersey and teaches as an adjunct in local area colleges.
